Over the next few weeks, I will be posting information on how to save on all areas of your life.
Today I am going to talk about Laundry and how to save money by using some DIY Laundry Supplie:
Instead of Dryer Sheets you buy at the store, Make your own by soaking a washcloth in your favorite fabric softener and letting it dry. (Very cheap!) Once it’s dry, you can throw it in the dryer with your clean clothes and you can reuse it over and over again without re-soaking the washcloth.
Instead of Liquid Fabric Softener in the washer, just add 1/2 cup of vinegar to the rinse cycle. This will not only soften your clothes but will deoderize them too! (**Bonus**)
Instead of store bought laundry detergent, mix together your own! Use 1 bar of shaved soap (Fels-Naptha or Ivory) , 1 cup of Borax, 1 cup of Arm and Hammer Super Washing soda and an essential oil of your choice. (the essential oil is optional) Homemade laundry detergent is not only simple to make, it costs ony 7 cents per load compared to about 23 cents for a leading brand detergent.
Major savings here ladies….let me know what you think!
